Prof. Saurabh Chandra has done his FPM from IIM Lucknow. His doctoral thesis was in the field of maritime logistics. Before joining the doctoral programme at IIM Lucknow, he worked with Mitsui OSK Lines as an Assistant Marine Engineer and as Chief Engineer with Ocean Sparkle Ltd., and COMACOE Ltd.

He is the co-founding member of the Maritime Logistics Research Group at IIM Indore and does extensive research and consulting on various areas of logistics management. His core strengths are strategic and tactical analysis of planning and scheduling problems in the logistics industry using mathematical programming and simulation.
Transportation policy analysis is another related area in which he is actively pursuing his research interests. Prof. Saurabh’s current research interests include maritime logistics and mathematical optimisation, analysing supply chain policies and the performance of Indian retail firms through financial data, and automotive logistics in India. His teaching interests include Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Service Operations Management, and Business Statistics.
Prof. Amit is working in the Operations Management and Quantitative Methods area at IIM Indore. He specialises in large-scale optimisation and supply chain management. He has worked in the industry for seven years and has rich experience in logistics, information technology, and the oil and gas sectors.

Prof. Amit has an FPM from IIM Ahmedabad with a specialisation in production and quantitative methods. In his doctoral work, he determined the best sequence of opening facilities under server uncertainty and was awarded the IFCI best thesis award at IIM Ahmedabad. He also has a PGDM from IIM Lucknow and a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur.
Post-FPM, he worked as a functional architect at JDA Software (a leading supply chain solutions company) for three years. He designed solutions for complex business problems in transportation and travel & tourism. Two of the solutions developed by him received the “Pillar” award at JDA for their innovative capabilities. He has earlier worked for Engineers India Ltd., as a Process Design Engineer. He worked on greenfields as well as revamping jobs for some of the large refineries and petrochemical plants in India, Kuwait, and Algeria.
